Premier League champions have agreed personal terms with Augsburg left-back Baba Rahman. Chelsea were in search of a proper left full-back who could replace outgoing Felipe Luis. Cesar Azpilicueta is Jose Mourinho’s prefered left back in the starting lineup. Baba’s arrival would give him an added option in the backline.

Baba Rahman’s agent Sacha Empacher spoke to Bild and confirmed the news that Chelsea have agreed terms with Ghanian international. He was quoted: “It is only the clubs that have to find an agreement. We on our side are agreed.”

Empacher had earlier revealed that the Blues have made an attractive offer for the defender and he might be on his ways.

Augsburg too have apparently found Baba Rahaman’s replacement. They are on the verge of signing left-back Philipp Max from Karlsruhe.

Felipe Luis had joined the Premier League champions last summer from Atletico Madrid. Due to the presence of Cesar Azpilicueta in the bakcline already Luis’ chances were narrowed.

Due to lack of game time the Brazilian left the club this summer and rejoined Atletico Madrid.

Though Chelsea would be a huge move for Baba’s career but it is highly unlikely that the youngster will get regular opportunities at the club this summer.

The 21-year-old player had joined the Bundesliga side last summer and was a regular member of the squad. He had played 31 matches in total for the club.
