According to reports from Express, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is ready for a late spending spree in an attempt to sign key targets.
The Blues have only signed Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante, unlike their Manchester rivals who have brought in world class signings in an attempt to push for the title this season.
Both Manchester United and Manchester City have already spent more than £150m but Blues are yet to make an impact signing after seeing a low last season where they finished 10th in Premier League.
Conte is ready to spend £140m in an attempt to sign Napoli’s star defender Kalidou Koulibaly who is being valued at £50m by the Italian club. The young Senegal international is the best defender in Serie A outside Juventus last season.
The Blues have also made a £42m bid for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku which was rejected by the Toffees and Chelsea are keen to make an improved bid to bring back the talented Belgian. It is also understood that Chelsea will push to the limit for Lukaku on the deadline day.
However, Everton are keen to keep hold of their star striker as they are ready to offer a new contract for the Belgian international in an attempt to ward off interest from Chelsea.
Conte is also willing to spend £15m on Santos attacking midfielder Thiago Maia, who is playing for Brazil at the Rio Olympics.
The 19-year old playmaker is one of the brightest young talents in Brazil and Blues are keen to sign him as Conte is very impressed with the midfielder.
