Chelsea are reportedly considering a stunning bid for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez if the club fails to hand him a new deal.
The Chile international, whose contract ends in 18 months, is yet to sign a new deal with the Gunners which has raised speculations around his future at the Emirates. Reports have suggested that the in-form forward, who currently earns £130,000-a-week, is demanding a pay rise which will see him earning in excess of £250,000-a-week. However, the club officials are not ready to accept which has put Sanchez’s future at the club in jeopardy. The situation has put several clubs on red alert with Chelsea being the latest to show their interest in the former Barcelona star.
The Mirror has reported that the Blues have not registered a bid yet but are keeping close tabs on the player. The report further claimed that the Stamford Bridge outfit is ready to bid as soon as it will become clear that Sanchez will not sign a contract extension.
Sanchez has been in sensational form this term and is currently the joint-leading scorer in the Premier League. And Chelsea boss Antonio Conte believes that the Gunners star would be a dream addition to a front line that already boasts Diego Costa and Eden Hazard.
The situation is really alarming for the North London outfit as apart from Chelsea, Juventus and Manchester City are also highly interested in the player. Moreover, the Chilean has reportedly received a whopping offer from the Chinese Super League and if the Gunners fail to sort out his future soon, Sanchez might become the latest star to the leave the Emirates in his prime form.
