With the seat of the boss at Chelsea lying vacant, it comes as a surprise that the Stamford Bridge outfit hasn’t approached Carlo Ancelotti to take up the reins of the club.
Ancelotti was sacked by Real Madrid before this season and since then has been on a sabbatical and is argued to come back to footballing action next season. And in the light of all that has come to pass at Stamford Bridge, it comes as a shock that the management has overlooked Ancelotti’s name as a successor to the Special One.
Ancelloti was the Chelsea manager from 2009- 2011 and led them to a Premier League title and an FA cup triumph. Though Guus Hiddink has been arguably chosen as the man to stabilize the sinking ship, but he will surely be a temporary solution. And If there is someone who can actually replaces Jose Mourinho then it would be that Italian bull but he hasn’t even been contacted by the Blues! (why!)
Ancelotti has won trophies wherever he has been from Milan to Madrid winning the famed La Decima for the Spanish giants. Given Ancelotti’s work experience, it is unfathomable why the management would overlook a catch like Carlo Ancelotti!
Ancelloti is rumoured to take up the job at Bayern Munich as Pep Guardiola is set to leave next summer. This piece of information might have played on the minds of the occupants of the board at Chelsea. However, an offer from Chelsea would have made the decision for the Italian a bit difficult.
The ex-Madrid man has been taking German lessons and said that “German is very difficult but if it was possible for [the former Bayern manager] Giovanni Trapattoni, I can do that also”. Seems like a done deal and maybe we will see an Italian lead the German giants next summer!
