Chelsea, to their credit despite the bad start have managed to keep their squad strength in tact and none of their big name players have so far thrown in the towel and willing to bring their season back on track. Perhaps this bit of transfer news might bring some joy to their fans as Chelsea are linked with a move for FC Porto’s midfielder Giannelli Imbula.
Imbula was one of Porto’s star in their 2-1 win over Chelsea during Champions League midweek. Since his move to Imbula, there have been reports of him being unsettled and L’equipe have a reason to believe that Imbula’s agents have been in constant touch with Chelsea and a summer move could be on the track.
Chelseas have lacked creativity and spark from midfield and Imbula could provide the same. Imbula’s teammate Yacine Brahimi is also linked with a move to Stamford Bridge but a 15million transfer fee favors Imbula over Brahimi, who is valued over 30million.
Chelsea are currently going through their worse start to a season and it will not be a surprise if Mourinho jumps in to the transfer marker in January and sign couple of players to freshen things up with Giannelli Imbula being one of them.
