According to German newspaper Bild, Chelsea are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 25-year-old scored 13 times in 27 league appearances for Borussia Dortmund last season after completing a move from Saint-Etienne. Reports suggest that the striker is available for only £7 million. Aubameyang has great pace and can play as a striker or winger. Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc told Bild the club has not received any offers for Aubameyang. Aubameyang is under contract with Borussia Dortmund  until 2018.

Michael Zorc told BILD: “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a player of Borussia Dortmund. We have received nothing in this respect!”

Recently, Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke denied reports of Aubameyang leaving in the summer.

CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said at the time: “Why should he be leaving? He has just played here for one season.

“We did not believe he would be put up [in the team] from the start in every match for our club.

“We have an immense competition for places in the first team, this was impossible for him.

“We are content with Aubameyang, he has a contract left at our club.”

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will be looking to sign another striker after closing in on Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid. Demba Ba and Fernando Torres are expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer. Samuel Eto’o has already left the Blues after his contract expired. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are looking to sign Romelu Lukaku.
