The Premier League title defenders are currently facing a blow at the league. Hit by relegation crisis, Chelsea is indeed in deep trouble. Disappointing performance from the players and unsuccessful tactics from the former manager Jose Mourinho has led to the team being slipped down to the the 15th position on the table.

However, the team has now started targeting players which they aim to sign in the transfer window. The Blues are aiming to sign Alex Teixeira of Shakhtar Donetsk. Interim manager Guus Hiddink has reportedly received orders from his authorities to use youth players this season. Fresh rumours regarding well-known transfer targets, Alex Teixeira and Jamie Vardy have emerged in the British media.

As per sources, Alex Teixeira has made a ‘verbal agreement’ with the Blues regarding the transfer. Though it sounds absurd, it is believed that the deal was verbally made and the time span mentioned in it was 5 long years. According to Le 10 Sport, the Pensioners would be willing to part with only €50m in order to bring the Brazilian to Stamford Bridge.

However, Chelsea isn’t the only club behind the player. Chelsea’s Champions League rivals PSG too are linked with Alex. PSG could possibly miss out on Zlatan and Lavezzi as the duo go out of contract at the end of the season. Also, Teixeira and Cavani will make a deadly combination at the club.

The striker is valued at around £30 million by his club, and these rumours contradict previous reports stating that Shakhtar Donetsk would sell only at the end of the season, so no one really knows how true is the story.
