If media reports in Spain are to be believed then Premier League giants Chelsea FC have made Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone their top priority as the managerial candidate next summer.

The Blues owner Roman Abramovich sacked superstar manager Jose Mourinho last month after a series of poor performances by the defending champions this season. The double winners in England had a terrible start to their title defending campaign this time and by mid season they were at the bottom half of the league nearing the relegation zone.

To avoid further embarrassment and danger, the Russian business tycoon removed Mourinho from the helm of affairs and brought in experienced manager Guus Hiddink as a stop gap replacement. While Hiddink is a great manager with a rich history under his belt, the Dutchman was never a permanent solution. Also Hiddink confirmed  a few days back that nothing would keep him at Stamford Bridge after these six months. Thus, Chelsea had to find a permanent replacemnt.

Several managers have been linked with Chelsea so far, which includes high profile names. The list consisted of managers like Pep Guardiola who announced recently that he would not comtinue with Bayern Munich after this season. The Spanish manager has been linked with several Premier League clubs which includes, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea. Also Guardiola himself recently confirmed that he is eyeing a move to England for further challenge in his career and taking up an English was the primary reason behind leaving Bayern.

The former Barcelona manager is strongly linked with Manchester City and it is believed that the Cityzens will be his next destination in all probability.

According to reports from Spanish media outlet okdiarioRoman Abramovich is looking forward to bringing in Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, who is currently one of the best manager in the world. He has a brilliant resume to support his cause, as the Argentine has won the La Liga, Europa League and came second in the UEFA Champions League with his limited resources. Simoene did a fantabulous job at the Vicenete Calderon and has built a brilliant squad.

Simeone’s addition might prove to be a huge thing at Chelsea. Diego Simeone is an aggressive manager and has modern day manager’s mentality. Winning La Liga, competing against Real Madrid and Barcelona who are the best in business currently is no joke and his style of play is admirable too. Simeone would perfectly suit Abramovich’s ambitions and would do a world of good at Stamford Bridge.
