Guus Hiddink has replaced Jose Mourinho over the month of December and has publicly declared that even if the results improve dramatically, he will definitely not be staying longer than the summer at the London club. This comes at a time when the Blues have resumed their dominating of opponents and have had two consecutive wins with clean sheets to boot. The Chelsea fans might be disappointed to see him leave if the results stay the same way but the man who might replace him is rumoured to be Jorge Sampaoli. The current Chilean international coach who has had impressive runs in international competitions for two years running now, winning the Copa America with his side back in the summer.

What might make the deal even sweeter for Chelsea fans is that the incoming manager is expected to lure in Alexis Sanchez with him to South West London. Sanchez has been by and far the standout performer for Arsenal and has been in impressive form for the Gunners ever since he signed for them from Barcelona the previous summer. He had 22 goals in 49 matches over the season and has been the sole reason why Arsenal managed to stay in contention for the Champion’s League spot over the last season. He can shoot from anywhere on the pitch and has a tremendous work rate which would complement any team.

He is understood to be a very close to Sampaoli and would jump at a chance to work with him at a club level. Similarly, Sampaoli has stated in his demands that he wants the 27-year-old attacker with him arriving at the club. The player will definitely not come cheap as Arsenal will look for a premium on the 30 million they paid for him and the fact that it is their immediate title and derby rivals asking for him, it would be at least in the region of 50 million for the Chilean attacker. If this deal takes place, expect a lot of blue jerseys with Sanchez’s name while many red ones feeling the wrath of the Arsenal fans.
