Alex Telles, the talented fullback at Inter has been chalked out as a potential target by the Blues over the winter window to provide competition for the underperforming Ivanovic and as cover for the position at which Chelsea only have a single regular outfield player.
The most recent links with the player come directly from his agent, Fernando Otto, who has been pretty vocal over his client’s interests and moves over the past year.
Telles had just moved to Inter the past summer along with Felipe Melo from Galatasaray over a one year loan deal. He still has a couple of years over at Galatasaray to honour and is widely expected to be leaving as Galatasaray have found potential replacements and are resigned to the fact that he is too good for them to keep holding on to.
The player himself has expressed a willingness to move and has taken the Inter opportunity by the scruff of its neck, impressing with the side currently chasing the Serie A title. The fact that most Serie A clubs and Premier League clubs are chasing him, comes as no surprise then as they look to take away the Brazilian on a permanent deal
The agent had this to say over possible transfer of his client over the window.
“Chelsea expressed an interest over the summer and have monitored him,” Otto was quoted as saying by Ajansspor.
Otto did placate the Inter fans over the possibility of losing him by mentioning that the defender is enjoying his time under the Italian Roberto Mancini, keeping Inter in the race.
“Telles is happy working with Mancini and wearing the Inter shirt,” he added.
