Diego Costa continued his fine form in front of the goals and helped Chelsea to share the spoils with Swansea City by scoring 2 goals at the Liberty Stadium.

Chelsea started the game brightly and took the lead in the 18th minute when Oscar teed up Costa on the edge of the box and the striker then coolly fired first time past Swansea goalie Lukasz Fabianski into the bottom corner. Chelsea were looking the better team during the match but a moment of madness saw Swansea scoring two goals inside three minutes against the run of play. Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois brought Gylfi Sigurdsson down inside the penalty area and the Iceland midfielder converted the spot-kick himself, before Leroy Fer dispossessed Gary Cahill and put the Swans ahead. With time running out, Swansea were looking to end Chelsea’s unbeaten run but a sensational overhead kick late in the match from Costa helped Chelsea to salvage a point.

The result ended Chelsea’s 100 per cent start to the season and denied them the opportunity to join Manchester City at the top of the table. With 10 points from 4 matches, they are currently second in the table.

Here is how every Chelsea player performed:

Thibaut Courtois: 5/10
Had nothing much to do during the entire match but made an awful mistake when he got his timing all wrong and fouled Sigurdsson to concede the penalty.

Branislav Ivanovic: 6.5/10
Was involved in both the goals but was seen struggling struggling against the pace of Modou Barrow.

Gary Cahill: 5/10
Had a satisfactory game except the when he made an error that allowed Fer to fire Swansea into lead.

John Terry:7/10
Did a commendable jo by keeping Llorente durung the entire match but ended the match with a minor injury in his ankle.

Cesar Azpilicueta: 6.5/10
Had a solid game at the back and was looking good when moving forward.

N’Golo Kante: 8/10
Once again made the difference for his team in the midfield as he constantly stopped Swansea’s attack to materialise and then moved forward to help the Blues attack.

Willian: 6/10
Not at his usual fluent best, he was struggling to provide quality balls in the final third.

Osacr: 7/10
Assisted Costa for the opener and was looking a real threat for the Swansea defence while attacking.

Nemanja Matic: 7/10
Continued his fine form under Conte and along with Kante, he ensured that Chelsea maintained the bulk of the possession. Was also good aerially.

Eden Hazard: 7/10
Conceded the possession on several occasions but was looking very dangerous in the final third. Unlucky to be denied a goal by a brilliant save.

Diego Costa: 8.5/10
Was looking at his best and had Swansea defence in all sorts of trouble. Scored twice but also squandered an easy chance.

Substitutes:

Cesc Fabregas: 5/10

Victor Moses: 5/10

Michy Batshuayi: 4/10

But just like the millions out there i did not put in the hard work needed to achieve my dream and now i have become a fan instead of the player. Anyway, writing for sports has kept me closer to this field. One more thing, yours sincerely is a die-hard Liverpool fan. You will never walk alone.
