Uruguay and Atletico Madrid veteran defender could become the latest player to join the Jose Mourinho led revolution at Chelsea next season. Godin, 29 is eyed as one of the best central defender in the world and Mourinho wants to bring the Uruguay captain at Stamford Bridge next season.
Chelsea are willing to offer recently arrived Fillipe Luis in exchange for Diego Godin. Atletico Madrid are getting wary of Chelsea’s intention of making a massive raid at the Spanish club next season. As per reports, Chelsea want to sign Atletico’s Antonio Griezmann, Kok and Diego Godin this summer in a deal close to £80-85 million.
The deal does look a fair one if Atletico decide to agree to the terms of Jose Mourinho and Chelsea. The Spanish club will get Fillipe Luis in return who joined the blues from the Spanish side previous summer. Since his move, Luis has seen very little game-time thanks to Cesar Azpilicueta and Branislav Ivanovic’s excellent form this season.
Mourinho knows that he is getting to a time where he cannot have the luxury of relying on John Terry for long now as the veteran English defender is soon to be 35-years old and Mourinho needs a wise head to marshal the Chelsea defense in seasons to follow.
