With dwindling hopes of regaining the title, Chelsea football club has released an official statement, which goes against the nature of its owner, showing support for Jose Mourinho and saying that the ‘Special One’ is here to stay.

The start of this season has been no more than a bad dream for Chelsea and Mourinho, with only two wins and for four losses along with 2 draws. But the losses don’t seem to have affected Mourinho who boldly in his press conference after the loss to Southampton said that Chelsea will not let him go as he was the best manager they ever had.

Here is the official statement of Chelsea in support of Jose Mourinho:

The club wants to make it clear that Jose continues to have our full support.

As Jose has said himself, results have not been good enough and the team’s performances must improve. However, we believe that we have the right manager to turn this season around and that he has the squad with which to do it.

Mourinho might have excellent credentials with his fairytale run with Porto and his 100 points for Real Madrid, but one cannot overlook how things ended for him at these clubs. Porto is the club where Jose won champions league title but in the heart of the club’s fans still lingers how he didn’t join his players for celebrations and how he abruptly left them for Chelsea.

And coming to Real Madrid, it was the biggest drama from the start to the finish with Mourinho essentially regarding himself bigger than the club which of course is something that Florentino Perez condones (this is a topic for some other time).

Chelsea reached the summit last season on the backs of a marvellous defense, but the lustre and vigour of yesterday seemed lost.  This makes Chelsea’s future in the league a thing of worry as they currently stand 16th just below the newly promoted Bournemouth. We might be bidding goodbye to Brendan Rogers but the romance of Chelsea and Mourinho is going to last a bit longer, but how long? That will be something to look forward to.
