Chelsea are set to be one of the busiest clubs in the summer as they are heading into an important transfer window after a debacle of a season this campaign.
Guus Hiddink, who was appointed in place of Jose Mourinho in December is set to leave the club at the end of the season and Italy national coach Antonio Conte is tipped off to take charge of the Stamford Bridge outfit next season.
And it is understood that the 46-year old already has plans for his new club and has a wish list for the summer.
Recent reports from the Daily Mail suggest that Conte has AS Roma mid-fielder Radja Nainggolan on the top of his wish list along with his team mate Miralem Pjanic.
And it is understood that Chelsea are ready make the move for the player this summer.
However, the 28-year old is also a transfer target for Italian giants Juventus and the two teams are set to fight it out in the summer for the mid-fielder’s signature.
Over the last couple of years, Nainggolan has risen up the ranks at Rome and has assumed an important role at the club in recent times. He is a strong dynamic mid-fielder and is an upgrade over the likes of Matic and John Obi-Mikel of Chelsea.
The English franchise are in a strong position and have an advantage over their Italian counterparts who are direct rivals for Nainggolan’s current club Juventus.
In a recent interview, the 28-year old revealed that he is happy at the club and specifically stated that he would rather stay there than win trophies at Turin.
“I’m happy here, and I want to win with the Giallorossi. It’s better to win a trophy in Rome than 10 with Juventus,” he said as quoted by Gazzetta dello Sport.
Roma are set to price their star player at £35million making a substantial profit on the £7m they paid to Cagliari for him a year ago.
This price will not scare the Stamford Bridge franchise and it will up to them to decide if the mid-fielder is worth the price this summer.
Do you think Nainggolan will succeed in the Premier League?
