According to latest reports, Chelsea are considering a move for 31-year old Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor. With Didier Drogba expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, Mourinho wants to add a new striker as his back up option.
With Diego Costa often getting injured, Adebayor will be a key addition as a back-up option as he has lot of experience playing in Premier League as well as he played under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.
The Togo International had a below-par season as he is able to find the net only twice through-out this season in 17 appearances. Spurs will be ready to off-load the player as he has not managed to live up to the expectations this season.
Being 31-year old and having suffered personal issues at Spurs are few of the primary reasons which could see him move to Chelsea as a back-up striker this summer as he looks highly unsettled at White Hart Lane.
With only one year left in his contract at white Hart Lane, Chelsea would like to snap the 2008 African Player of the Year for a cut-price deal as Spurs are also interested to cash on the player as he is looking as not an important part of their future plans.
