Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaur Courtois has told his teammates that he will leave to Spain at the end of the season, according to reports in Spain.
The 24-year old had earlier played for Atletico Madrid on a three year loan spell in which he became one of the fines in Europe. He then soon returned to Stamford Bridge to dethrone Petr Cech as No.1 for the 2014-15 season.
He has been in spectacular form this season for the Blues as he is currently having the most clean sheets in the Premier League. He has played a pivotal role in the resurgence of Chelsea as they are now seven points clear at the top of the table.
Thibaut Courtois has been constantly linked with a move back to Spain since his return to Stamford Bridge and Spanish radio station Cadena Cope reveals that the shot stopper has told his teammates that he will leave for Real Madrid this summer.
The Belgian’s family still reside in the Spanish capital and he is keen to move back to Madrid as he has enquired about enrolling his daughter in a Spanish school. Real Madrid are currently looking for a goalkeeper and have been linked with some of the finest shot stoppers in the world but the Los Blancos are really interested in signing Thibaut Courtois or David de Gea.
Keylor Navas’ future at Santiago Bernabeu is unclear and the club are keen to find a world class replacement for the Costa Rican goal keeper. Navas was previously included in a sensational swap deal for Manchester United’s David de Gea in the summer of 2015.
However, Louis van Gaal has ensured that the deal did not fall through in the final hours of the transfer window as both the goalkeepers still remain at their respective clubs.
Thibaut Courtois has arguably been the best keeper in the Premier League this season and it will be hard for Chelsea to stop the player from moving to Real Madrid as the latter is considered one of the best teams in the club football.
