Radamel Falcao’s nightmare Premier League career is as good as over with Chelsea looking set to reject the chance to sign him on a permanent basis.

Chelsea are looking to end Radamel Falcao’s loan from AS Monaco as early as possible. The striker has scored just 1 goal in his Chelsea outings and that too came in a 2-1 loss at home to Crystal Palace.

Jose Mourinho has been under pressure since the start of the season and is thinking of bringing in a new striker in January. He’s reluctant to part ways Loic Remy who had several offers for him rejecte din the summer. While Diego Costa will remain his first choice.

Mourinho took a gamble by signing the Colombian on loan this summer. AS Falcao failed to impress while at Manchester United last season and Monaco have been struggling sell him since his injury.

Though nothing is clear so far, it looks very likely that Chelsea will end Falcao’s loan in January. Chelsea might look to bring back Patrick Bamford or buy a new striker.

The Premier League champions have been poor so far in this campaign and sit 16th, having lost more top-flight matches already this term then they did in 2014-15.

On Monday Chelsea issued a statement backing the Portuguese boss, who saw his team fall to a 3-1 defeat at home to Southampton on Saturday.

Falcao has scored just one goal in nine competitive appearances this season for the defending Premier League champions. This comes on the back of an unsuccessful loan spell at Manchester United last season, in which he scored four goals in 27 appearances.

Despite sealing a €60 million move to Monaco from Atletico Madrid, Falcao has spent just a single season at the Stade Louis II. He still has two years remaining on his contract, but it’s unclear whether Falcao will return to the Ligue 1 outfit or seek another loan away from the principality.
