Chelsea midfielder Marko Marin is all set to Turkish club Trabzonspor on a permanent deal this summer. He is currently at Turkey to undergo a medical with the club.
Turkish media ligtv quoted Trabzonspor sporting director, Süleyman Hurma: “He will arrive in Trabzon tonight and undergo a medical tomorrow before completing his transfer.”
Marko Marin had joined Chelsea in 2012 from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen for €8 million. He was a talented youngster from Germany who had arrived and signed a five-dear deal at Stamford Bridge. Unfortunately, due to the presence of an array of quality midfielders in the Chelsea squad Marin became out of favour and was sent on loan to Sevilla in the 2013/2014 season. The succeeding year once again he was off-loaded Italian Serie A club Fiorentina.
Last season Marin was sent to Anderlecht and it was imminent that his Chelsea career would come to an end.
The player had played just 6 matches in total for the Blues and managed to score just one goal. According to reports, Chelsea is ready to sell the player one year prior to his contract expiry and Marin will ply his trade in Turkey from this season.
The German midfielder who was once an extremely talented player and was one of the most upcoming talents in the world has played just 16 international matches for Germany since 2008.
