Chelsea superstar signs new contract, big blow for PSG and Real Madrid


  • One of the best players in the Premier League, Eden Hazard has signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea, which will run till 2020. With the new deal Hazard will earn £200,000-a-week.

    Hazrad signing the new deal will come as a huge blow for the likes of PSG and Real Madrid who were hoping to sign the Chelsea superstar.

    Hazard joined Chelsea from Lille for £32 Million in 2012 and has been one of the standout performers for the club. With his new deal Hazard is set to stay at Chelsea till 2020.

    This news will bring some joy to Jose Mourinho who has been quite discontent with few things surrounding the club. Jose was ecstatic hearing the news of Hazard extending his stay and said,

    “I am very happy that Eden has signed a new contract,”

    “It shows he believes in the club’s coaching staff and players to help him become the best player in the world.

    “He is already a top player and his evolution has been fantastic. He is still very young and he can become the best.”

    Eden Hazard has gone from strength to strength with Chelsea. Hazard is enjoying a fruitful season with Chelsea having scored 13 goals is 36 games which sees Chelsea lead the Premier League and in the knock out rounds of the Champions League.

     

    Eden Hazard was very happy with his new contract. Speaking to the official Chelsea TV Hazard said:

    “I am very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea,” said Hazard, speaking to the club’s official website. “Since I came here in 2012 I have always felt good and the club has been very supportive to me.

    “The manager has helped me improve a lot, the fans have been fantastic and I have an amazing understanding with my team-mates.

    “I always try to give pleasure to the supporters with my style of play and it is nice to know they appreciate my work.

    “I hope we can repay that support by winning lots of trophies, beginning with the Capital One Cup at Wembley, and after that, we can push hard towards the end of the season.”

    Hazard was previously linked with a move away to big spending PSG and Spanish giants Real Madrid. Hazard signing the new deal will be a big blow for Real Madrid as he was eye as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

    Having signed the new contract, now Hazard will look to add to his Europa League triumph with Chelsea which is the only trophy he has won with the blues.
