After one of the worst title defeats ever, Chelsea decided to appoint former Italian coach Antonio Conte to lead the side back to its best in the next season.
The manager has duly obliged and has already started shaping his squad having added the likes of Michy Batshuayi and N ‘Golo Kante to his squad this summer.
However, the manager seems to be looking to add more mettle and depth to the squad and is looking at some top class player for a move this summer.
This search has seen him linked with star PSG striker Edinson Cavani.
The Uruguay international has been a prolific goal-scorer in Europe over the years and has been an integral part of the PSG squad in the last two seasons.
He usually played the second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Paris and was linked with a move away from the club in the last two summers. It is no surprise that Cavani is not happy with a place on the bench and it is now understood that Conte wants to bring him to Chelsea with the promise of regular football.
Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi are expected to take most of the attacking responsibilities next season but the manager is expected to play two strikers up front in a 3-5-2 formation leaving him in search of another to class striker to compete with the duo mentioned above.
And it is now revealed that the Stamford Bridge outfit are readying a £41.5million bid for PSG hitman to get him to the club this summer.
However, the striker is valued at £66.5million and PSG are ready to let go of him only for that price.
Moreover, with Zlatan now moving on, PSG are need of another striker and losing Cavani as well is not advisable.
Laurent Blanc will have to act fast and make sure that he keeps hold of Cavani else Conte, who seems to be getting deals done quickly may well get his hands on the Uruguay striker this summer.
The player has also revealed that he wants to start a new adventure and the Stamford Bridge will not be a bad place to start the journey.
Do you think Cavani will move to Chelsea before the end of the transfer window?
