In a massive turn of events in last 48 hours, Chelsea now have emerged as the joint favorites to sign Liverpool’s superstar Raheem Sterling according to the bookies. Real Madrid are the other contendors, who are interested in signing the English winger.

Sterling has been constantly avoiding the talk of his contract extension with the Anfield club and as per the reports, Sterling and his advisors have already turned down a £100,000-a-week contract offered by the club.

Brendan Rodgers has made his stance very clear on the negotiations. Liverpool manager had earlier claimed that the club will not be held as a hostage to Sterling’s demands and will only stretch his wages to a limit they see fit.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has personally asked Sterling to pledge his future with Liverpool as well. Sterling and his camp are beginning to see Chelsea as the long term rulers of the Premier League and are willing to join hands in Mourinho’s revival at Stamford Bridge.

Real Madrid are keen on signing Sterling as they want to find a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. With Eden Hazrad extending his stay at Chelsea, Sterling is one of the very few options left for Real Madrid. For now, Los Blancos were alone in the race to sign the England International but with Chelsea in frame, it just might edge this battle towards the Premier League side.

Sterling is only 20 right now and wants to stay in England, this could be the decisive factor in this deal and Chelsea might come out as the big winners as according to the bookies the blues are now the joint favorites to sign Raheem Sterling from Liverpool.
