According to latest report from Mirror, Chelsea are favorites to sign Bundesliga defensive sensation Abdul Rahman Baba from FC Augsburg this summer ahead of Arsenal and Roma.

The Blues have been linked with the young left-back last month with Felipe Luis set to return to his former club Atletico Madrid for next season. The 20-year old has moved to Bundesliga outfit Augsburg last summer and has been an sensation both on attack and defensive fronts.

Chelsea are looking for a replacement for departing Felipe Luis and the player is identified as a key target in the transfer market. Mourinho wants the player as he plans to shuffle his defense. The arrival of Baba meant that Cesar Azpilicueta can play as right back in his natural position which will see Branislav Ivanovic in central defense.

Roma have lodged an official bid and have been holding talks but the player have expressed his desire to move to London over Rome. The player has emerged one of the best young defenders in the world recently and wants to move to a big club if he were to leave his current employers.

Baba has assited four goals last season, the most by any defender at his club and have impressed in defense as well as he won a remarkable 91 tackles and 77 aerial duels.
