Barcelona keeper Claudio Bravo had been rumoured to make an exit from Camp Nou but the club’s transfer consultant has snubbed off any such move by confirming that the Chilean is here to stay with Barcelona. Reports said that the keeper was disappointed on never being able to play at the Champions league and was hence eyeing a way out of the Spanish club. Alreido Braida claimed those reports to be totally untrue.
As per the media in Chile, it was believed that Bravo was upset on not being made to start in the 6-1 game against AS Roma despite his commendable performance in the El Clasico.
It is believed that the decision was made since the coach Luis Enrique was abiding by the rotation policy. Braida said that the Spanish club wasn’t interested in even listening to any talks which indicated Bravo’s exit. Talking to AS, he said, “[Bravo] is not in the market, and we will not listen to offers for him,” the former AC Milan executive said. “He is one of our stars, and is going nowhere, he will not leave Barca.”
Bravo has been a key figure for Barca since joining them from Real Sociedad in 2014, although he is only the club’s first-choice goalkeeper in La Liga, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen preferred in the Champions League and in the Copa del Rey. Recent speculation suggests the 32-year-old will look for a route out of the club should he continue to play second fiddle to ter Stegen in the Champions League.Bravo is under contract at Barcelona until 2018, while he has a €15m buyout clause.
