In a one-off match between the former greats of Manchester United and Bayern Munich, Old Trafford legends came out victorious with a 4-2 score line to win the overall tie with a 7-5 aggregate score.

Some of you may remember, there was a legends game played last summer in Munich between the two sides which ended with a 3-3 score line. Old Trafford witnessed the second leg of that game and former United strikers made sure that it ended in home side’s favor.

Louis Saha started the scoring for Manchester United but the striker suffered a similar fate like his Old Tarfford career. Saha had to leave the game due to an injury.

Saha’s effort was followed by the familiar names of Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke warp up the scoring. In between, another hero of 1999 Champions League final Jesper Blomqvist got on the score sheet for the reds.

Manchester United fielded a strong side which had the likes of Edwin Van Der Sar, Dennis Irwin, Phil Neville, Japp Stam, Ji Sung Park, Louis Saha, Paul Scholes, Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke.

A strong crowd of 50,128 turned up to see their former heroes turn up the style at Old Trafford to beat Bayern Munich legends with a handsome score line.

There is nothing concrete about next season’s matches between these two famous club but seeing the success in Munich last year and now in Manchester this year, we won’t be surprised if it was to become a regular occurrence during the off-seasons.
