The English domestic season will officially be underway when Manchester United, the FA Cup winners, take on Leicester City, the Champions of England, in a one-off game for the first shot at silverware. The Community shield, that provides the club with a chance to start their season with a trophy will give Jose Mourinho a great chance to create an immediate impression on the squad while Claudio Ranieri will hope to continue his team’s impressive performances from the last season. The Community shield game between Leicester City and Manchester United will be played on Sunday the 7th of August at the Wembley stadium in London. The kickoff is scheduled at 4:00 pm BST (8:30 pm IST)
Manchester United are expected play the all their summer signings in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly in this game. The likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, and Fosu-Mensah are all back in training and may play a part in this game. Paul Pogba, who is on the verge of a transfer to Old Trafford will not be available even if he makes an official move before the match.
Claudio Ranieri, on the other hand, is set to play Nampalys Mendy, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy for this game. Ahmed Musa, who impressed in the outing against Barcelona may also be given a chance to showcase his skill against Manchester United. N’Golo Kante will be missed but is the only impact player who has left title-winning squad this summer.

Arguably one of the best defenders in the previous season under Ranieri, Wes Morgan was also impressive in the pres-season games for Leicester City. However, he will be up against one of the best strikers in the world in Zlatan Ibrahimovic and will be tested to his core even before the start of the domestic league.
Jamie Vardy vs Eric Bailly:
The newcomer to Old Trafford, Bailly, is expected to take up an important place in Untied’s squad next season and is expected to start this game against Leicester City. His first real test will be to keep Jamie Vardy, the inform Englan international away from his goal. It will be a tough but good test for the youngster going into the start of the new season.
The only Wembley match between the two teams previously was the FA Cup final in 1963, in which Manchester United won 3-1.
Both matches between United and Leicester in the Premier League last season ended 1-1.
Jamie Vardy broke the Premier League record for scoring in the most consecutive matches, previously held by United’s Ruud van Nistelrooy, in the first meeting in November (11).
This is Leicester City’s first appearance in the Community Shield since 1971, in which they beat Liverpool 1-0 at Filbert Street. The Foxes were winners of the Second Division (now the Championship) the season before.
This will be Manchester United’s 30th appearance in the Community Shield. They’ve won the trophy on 20 previous occasions, a record figure (16 outright wins and four shared titles).
