Aston Villa have made an audacious bid to sign Chelsea and Manchester city teenage target Amadou Diawara, according to his agent.

The Championship side have made a £14.7m bid for the 19-year old who is one of the most sought out youngsters in entire Europe.

Diawara is a defensive midfielder who is currently playing for FC Bologna in Serie A and have broken into the first team as he became a regular starter for the Italian club.

The Guinean international have managed an impressive 34 league appearances in Serie A last season and have attracted the interest of a host of clubs across Europe which includes the likes of Juventus, Napoli, Roma, Chelsea and Manchester City besides Aston Villa.

The young midfielder playing style is likened to that of Yaya Toure and is expected to do big things in the coming years.

Diawara’s agent Daniel Piraino said: “The offer of Aston Villa? It’s true. But [for now] he tries to do everything for Bologna.”

However, despite the audacious attempt from Aston Villa, the player looks keen to play for Bologna this season as he looks very settled with the club.

But the young midfielder has not participated in the pre-season campaign of Bologna and was not allocated a squad number for the upcoming season which could make Aston Villa interested in making another bid.
