Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett is currently undergoing a medical at Reading to finalize his loan move, according to the reports.
The 22-year old is keen to move away from Old Trafford this season to continue his development and Championship side Reading are keen to provide him the opportunity. The deal is expected to be finalized with an official announcement due later today.
The youngster is one of the many academy prodigies who are leaving on loan from Manchester United under Jose Mourinho as the manager feels that these youngsters could continue their development away from the academy.
The player has managed to break into Manchester United first team in 2014-15 season and have featured in 12 games over the course of the season but have not made a single appearance last season.
Reading manager Jaap Stam who was also a former Manchester United defender has admitted the club’s interest in the 22-year old.
“We’re still looking for a couple of signings. I know Tyler, not personally, but I know what he can do – what type of player he is, the way he can play,” Stam told Get Reading.
“But I don’t know yet if it’s going to happen. We’ve shown our interest but I don’t know if we will succeed getting him to the club.”
Blackett was reportedly present in the crowd watching Reading’s 2-2 home draw with Brighton on Saturday in the stands.
