Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski is fast heading towards the exit doors as the leading Turkish newspaper Akşam has reported the news of Galatasaray agreeing a £1.4million fee for the German forward.
The 30-year-old German forward spent last season on loan at Inter Milan hoping to revive his career but he ended up bringing down his value even more. Podolski only scored 1 goal for the Italian side and is seeking move away from Emirates to establish himself once again.
Arrival of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck has further send Podolski back in the packing order at the club and any playing time in the first team looks impossible for the World Cup winner striker. Best thing for Podolski would be to seek a move away from Emirates.
Podolski has been one of the fan favorites at the club and is currently on a £1,00,000-a-week wages. It was believed that Podolski’s wage demands would have been one of the stumbling blocks in his move away from the club but Galatasaray are prepared to offer Podolski a hefty salary.
Aksam has reported that, Galatasaray have already agreed personal terms with the player with fee yet to be decided by both the clubs. Turkish side’s initial offer of £1.4million sounds too low to begin with. However, considering Podolski has just 1 year left in his contract, Arsenal might not bargain too much for the striker.
