Italian club Bologna club manager Roberto Donadoni has revealed that he wants to bring in Liverpool’s misfit striker Mario Balotelli.
The Reds are keen to offload the striker this summer and the player is keen to find a new club to revive his career. He had moved to Anfield amid high expectations back in 2014 has never been phenomenal for the Reds as he was sent on loan to AC Milan last season.
Balotelli has scored only 4 goals in his debut season at Liverpool but could not make his impact felt even in Serie A with AC Milan as he managed only 3 goals in 23 appearances last season.
Despite his below-par performances over the last two years, Balotelli has drawn interest from a host of clubs which include Chievo, Sampdoria, Wolves, Ajax and few others.
Bologna are the latest to join the list of his potential suitors as the player is set to move away from Anfield before the end of the current transfer window.
“Of course, I would be okay with Balotelli joining the club,” Donadoni told the media. “What is discussed behind closed doors and what is said publicly must remain behind closed doors.
“All I’ll say is that such a move is still far-fetched but I don’t hide the fact that big names are covered by everyone and Mario is one of those players.
“The key thing is that anyone who comes here has to have the correct attitude and work rate for our team. If they don’t, then we can’t afford to have him. But if the player is available and shows that willingness to work, then he is certainly welcome here.”
