It is no longer a secret that David De Gea is destined to move to Real Madrid this summer and it has left Manchester United with a massive task of replacing the departing Spaniard keeper.

United have shortlisted many world class goal keeper including the fellow Premier League stars Petr Cech and Hugo Lloris along with Inter Milan’s Samir Handanovic.

However, despite their interest and availability Manchester United have decided to go ahead and place a bid for Galatasaray’s goal keeper Fernando Muslera.

Muslera has been a regular for his club and national side and commands a transfer fee of £15million. Turkish side are aware of the growing interest in their keeper as Arsenal have earmarked Muslera as their backup option if they fail to land Petr Cech.

Aware of the interest, Muslera has refused to get drawn on to making any statement on his future. Muslera is currently away on international duty with Uruguay where he is focused to guide his team to a successful Copa America campaign.

Muslera certainly has the capability to do well at the highest level of the European game but will he be the right man to fill the boots of departing De Gea, only time will tell that.
