Antonio Conte was off to a perfect start to his Premier League debut season with three wins from his first three games incharge of Chelsea this season.
The former Italian boss has done some smart business in the transfer window, keeping the core of the team intact and adding a couple of world class players to the squad.
He is yet to face defeat but it is understood that he still wants to add to his squad even with just a few days left for the transfer window to shut.
One place the manager wants to improve his squad is in defense. The likes of Gary Cahill and John Terry are the only two options at center back at the moment and this has seen Conte look at a number of options to add to his squad.
The likes of Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea and Nikola Maksimovic from Torino have been extensively linked with a move to the Bridge this summer but the manager has not been able to strike a deal with any of the players.
And it is now understood that he has turned his attention towards Dutch international Stefan de Vrij.
The 24-year old is a product of the Feyenoord academy and came into the light with his performances for his country in the World Cup a couple of years ago.
He has since then been at Lazio making a decent impact on the squad in his debut year.
However, it is now understood that Antonio Conte is ready to make a move for the player and is plotting a £21.3m switch in the coming days.
The 24-year old missed the entire previous season through a knee injury and is understood to be not match fit yet this season but Conte is desperate for additions to his defense and wants De Vrij to move to the Bridge this summer.
It is understood that Conte wants to strike a deal with £21.3m + addons depending on the players performance in the English league.
It will be interesting to see if Conte can get his man and if he does, he will be more than happy with the transfer business he has done this summer.
So can Conte get his hands on Stefan de Vrij in the coming days?
