Hosts and tournament dark horses Chile take on Peru in the first semi-final of the Copa America 2015. Jorge Sampaoli’s side are in a tantalizing form as they have managed to score 11 goals in the entire torunament so far and have remained unbeaten. They have won three and drew one game during the group stages. Chile played their last match against title holder Uruguay in the quarter final stage. Juventus defender Mauricio Isla scored a late winner to confirm his team’s berth in the semi-finals of the tournament. Needless to say that they were undoubtedly the better side on that day against Uruguay. They are clear favourites in this encounter and are expected to win convincingly. Arsenal talisman Alexis Sanchez and Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal are the key men for Chile in this encounter.

Peru on the other hand have surprised many as they have progressed to the last four stage. They too have been in great form lately as they thrashed Bolivia 3-1 in the quarter final. Ricardo Gareca’s men were placed in tough group with gaints Brazil and Colombia. They lost their opening match against Brazil but came back strongly to defeat Venezuela and then holding Colombia for a draw. Th

They finished second ahead of Colombia in the group table on goal difference. The quarter final match though was a complete turn around for the side as they bulldozed past Bolivia. Peru are great threat and might surprise many and defeat the favourites Chile and qualify for the final. A mouth-watering clash is on the cards. National team captain and Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizzaro will play a key role in Peru’s performance against a strong opponent like Chile.
