Will You Copy Chelsea’s 3-4-3 Formation?? Arsene Wenger Has The Perfect Response

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that his team has the ability to play Chelsea’s 3-4-3 style if the situation demands.
After suffering a string of poor results earlier this season, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte implemented the 3-4-3 style and the formation did wonders straightaway as Chelsea won 13 games in a row before their winning run was cut short by Tottenham Hotspur who have also implemented a similar playing style.
Arsenal, who were plagued by several injuries in the last few months, have been bolstered by the return of veteran defender Per Mertesacker. Shkodran Mustafi, who too has recovered from an injury, and Laurent Koscielny have been very impressive so far. Moreover, Gabriel and Rob Holding give Wenger plenty of options to play with three defenders at the back.
“We can play with three at the back, yes,” said the Arsenal boss.
“We have Gabriel, we have Mertesacker, we have Holding, we have of course Koscielny and Mustafi. When needed we can do that.
“But we are a team who are focused on an offensive game. Overall, we like always to go forward and have numbers in the middle of the park and up front.”
Meanwhile, the French tactician also said that Danny Welbeck, who scored two goals against Southampton in the FA Cup on Saturday, might return to the squad for the Premier League clash against Watford but refused to guarantee a spot for him in the playing eleven.
“We have to be cautious with him,” Wenger said.
“I’m not sure if we use him every three days – I think he is a bit short for that. But the quality of the performance was there.
“To add him to the squad gives us huge offensive potential. Now I have to use the strikers well, in the right moments, without destroying the balance of the team.
“(Lucas) Perez has contributed very well on Saturday to create chances. Offensively, we have many players who can produce and score,” he added.
Currently lying second in the table, Arsenal trails Premier League leaders Chelsea by 8 points and would be desperate to bag all the three points against the Hornets before they take on the Blues in their next Premier League clash.
