London, Aug 20 (IANS) Belgian international striker Christian Benteke has left Liverpool to join Crystal Palace for 31.1 million euros ($35.2 million), the English football club confirmed on Saturday.

The 25-year-old striker signed a contract for the next four years, while the deal could rise to 37 million euros ($41 million) with variables, reports Efe.

“I’m very happy to commit my future to Crystal Palace and I’m looking forward to meeting the manager, the players and the staff,” Benteke said in a statement.

“I feel really happy that the deal has been done and now I can look forward because it’s been going on for a long time, but now I think everything is going to be OK,” he added.

Benteke passed the medical tests on Friday.
