FC Pune City’s celebrity coach David Platt, the former coach of Manchester City seems anxious mainly on the injury of his marquee striker Adrian Mutu before his boys take on Athletico De Kolkata in the ISL match.
Mutu, the former Juventus striker has been to participate in only the team’s single match. The player has been suffering from groin injury, already before he had joined FC Pune City a couple of months ago.
David Platt is also worried about the injuries of other footballers in his team as he has not been able to organize the team’s composition due to injuries as in the last three matches the English coach had to field the teams which had various changes.
Platt however, before his crucial match against ATK, wants to manage three points anyway. He stated on Friday, “Despite the absence of their marquee striker Helder Poschiga, ATK is enough strong as a team. And I personally feel their main strength is their experienced Spanish coach Antonio Habas. So, we have to be very careful.”
On the contrary, Habas seems confident about victory even in the team’s away match and even without his key footballers. Speaking on the match on Friday, Habas said, “I believe in team performance, not in individual show. That has been the reason we are progressing so far. And my aim is to secure three points by winning against FC Pune City so that we can advance towards the semifinal stage of the League.”
But despite all his plans and expectations, the Spanish coach might have to receive a jolt as the condition of the ground at the Balewade Stadium is very poor at the moment after Pune FC has decided to pull out of I League and also decided to stop maintaining the ground on a regular basis.
