According to ESPN and Roberto Firmino’s agent, Manchester United have agreed a £13.1million move for the Brazilian from the Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.

Several sources are claiming that United have pulled off an astonishing coup by signing Firmino for as little as £13.1million, considering the player has recently signed an extension with the Bundesliga club.

German football expert Kevin Hatchard was speaking to talksport where he discussed Firmino’s proposed signing for the Old Trafford side.

Hatchard said: “He’s been on United’s radar for a long time, and they’ll have been impressed by his ability to have a positive impact on games week-in week-out.

“If United get him for the figures being quoted, they’ll have pulled off a big coup.”

Firmino’s move to United was further confirmed by the player’s agent Jose Elias, who told ESPN Brasil’s Bate-Bola show that Firmino will have his medical with Manchester United while away on International duty with Brazil.

Firmino is currently with Brazil’s national side preparing for the Copa America in Chile.

Firmino’s addition will see United sign yet another creative midfield player. Firmino is best known to play as a central attacking midfield player, while he is equally effective on the right wing.

The 23-year old player registered 10 goals and 12 assists in the recently concluded Bundesliga season and will bring a lot of creativity to Louis Van Gaal’s side.
