Dele Alli signs a new deal with Tottenham by increasing his £12,500-per-week wages to £25,000.
It certainly caps a sensational rise for Alli, who was running around in League One last season eyeing the top flight of English football and is now playing in the international stage.
The new contract commits him to the Spurs until 2021, only five months after his arrival at White Hart Lane.
Alli officially left MK Dons for £5m almost a year ago but was apparently loaned back for the rest of last term and now he has become a key part in the Tottenham midfield.
After seeing off the likes of Liverpool and Bayern Munich to sign Dele Alli, Spurs decided to reward him for the glittering displays in his Premier League debut season.
Reports claim, Alli hasn’t asked for any increase but the Spurs hierarchy were desperate to sign him prior to heading to Euro 2016.
He seems certain to be in Roy Hodgson’s England squad after making his debut last October before scoring a goal with a sensational strike against France a month later.
Alli’s perfection to play in a holding midfield position or even further forward is believed to be a big advantage by Three Lions boss Hodgson.
He also has been scoring consistently for Mauricio Pochettino’s men this term and has netted four goals in his last nine league fixtures, including a goal in the 1-1 draw against Everton last Sunday.
“I’m delighted. The club has been great to me since I’ve come here, we’ve got a great young team,” the 19-year-old told Spurs website.
“It hasn’t all been easy but everybody has helped me settle in so quickly, I can’t thank them enough. I’ve got a lot to learn and this is a great club to do that.
“We’re delighted to announce that @Dele_Alli has signed a new contract with the club which will run until 2021,” Tottenham posted on their official Twitter account later.

Meanwhile, his Tottenham and England team-mate Andros Townsend is hoping he would be priced allowed a move in January. Townsend is keen to leave after being snubbed by Pochettino.
