Delhi who will be hosting Sunday’s match against Kerala Blasters at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will try to overcome their last defeat against FC Goa 4-1. The Dynamos who have only won once in the ISL will try to grab all the three points and will be desperate to win at home.

Delhi who registered their only victory against the Chennaiyin FC by 4-1 have not been able to maintain the same form by only scoring thrice in the other seven matches. The Danish duo Morten Skoubo and Mads Junker, who were on fire in the pre-season friendlies and had helped the Northern outfit to score 21 goals have failed to perform in the ISL so far.

Del Peiro, who is one of the star signings of the Dynamos hasn’t been given a proper start in previous couple of matches and was on the bench against FC Goa in the previous match. Coach Harm Van Veldhoven doesn’t seem to have much confidence in the former Juventus striker even though Del Peiro has insisted several times that he is 100% fit.

Delhi Dynamos lack a player who can intercept the play in the midfield. This was seen in the previous match since after winning the ball in the midfield they made an easy run towards the defence with no Dynamos player coming and stopping them.

The defence of the Northern outfit in the previous match wasn’t that good as the other matches. Centre-backs Wim Raymaekers and Anwar Ali were not able to mark their assigned players properly and that made a lot of trouble when FC Goa took advantage of this from set pieces. Delhi has also wasted a lot of opportunities upfront and has found it difficult to score in their previous matches.

Kerala Blasters’ away record hasn’t been satisfactory with one win, one draw and three defeats from the last five away games and wining today’s match is vital for James’s team.

James’s side needs proper attacking players since they have till now relied upon the former Newcastle United player Michael Chopra who is injured now and was given a start in the first few matches even though he looked unfit. With only six matches to go Kerala would need more attacking power on their side and will regret not having it.

Canadian player Lain Hume has impressed the audience with his brilliance in the previous matches and so have C.S. Sabeeth and Milagres Gonsalves but they cannot be dependent upon scoring goals every time. Even players like Andrew Barisic who was one of the five signings by the club hasn’t had much impact so far.

It would be difficult to score past James today and the Dynamos have to put a tough fight if they want to win all the three points at home. A tough competition can be witnessed on Sunday evening as both teams will try to improve their standings in ISL.
