Angel Di Maria is experiencing a season, very few brave Real supporters would’ve expected from the Argentine at the start of this campaign. The signing of Gareth Bale left many Madridistas wondering whether the once-promising Argentinian winger would become a bit-part player for the Los Blancos. After a lacklustre performance against Dortmund mid-week, Di Maria came up trumps and showed all his critics just why Carlo Ancelotti favours the Argentine so much.
Real fans at the Bernabeu conjured up a huge roar about 10 minutes before the kick-off when they realized that their eternal rivals Barcelona just lost away to Granada. Their teams performance against a lowly Almeria didn’t let the fans down either. Di Maria starting the game more advanced than his new adopted centre midfield role came to life in the 4th minute when he sent a left-footed drive towards the Almeria goal only to the thwarted by the crossbar. Within no time, Di Maria launched a one-man attack on Almeria forcing keeper Esteban Suarez into a host of saves coming off the right flank onto his favoured left-foot. Eventually with 30 minutes approaching, Di Maria typically cut in from the right and caressed a left-footed shot into the corner for Real’s opener.
Di Maria was in action once again this time setting up a goal. Gareth Bale, Isco and Alvaro Morata followed the Argentine’s example and piledon the misery on poor Almeria who barely got a shot on target until the 65th minute of the game. Keeping in touch with leaders Atletico, Real look like they are not going to bow out of this title-fight anytime soon, to say the least.
