According to several reports, Liverpool are preparing an audacious £25 million summer transfer for Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere, which could help Arsenal sign Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton.
Wilshere will be Brendan Rodgers’ ideal signing to replace Steven Gerrard who will leave Liverpool to move to MLS when the season ends. Rodgers is a big fans of Wilshere’s ability to adopt in different situations while playing from midfield.
With Jack Wilshere going to Anfield, Arsene Wenger could be tempted to raid Southampton and sign his long-term target Morgan Schneiderlin. Arsenal have been linked with the player over last two transfer windows and seems as the perfect fit for Arsene Wenger’s currently adopted system at Emirates. Midfield duo of Schneiderlin and Coquelin would ideally complement the fair play of Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez up front.
Reports linking Wilshere to a move to Anfield started last month when a trusted Liverpool source Liverpool Echo reported the news. The news caught further momentum when the same news resurfaced earlier today. It also suggests that Arsenal will be tempted to listen to a £25 million offer from the reds.
Wilshere has found it hard to establish himself in Arsenal’s playing 11 due to his injuries and off-field antics. Wilshere has been involved in multiple smoking incidents and is still serving time on the injury table with the latest injury set to keep him out for next month and a half.
Arsenal are blessed with a terrific front three of Ozil, Cazorla and Sanchez which makes it even harder for Wilshere to stake his claim for a starting berth in the team. Wilshere’s contract runs till 2018 but if the price is right Arsene Wenger might want to cash-in on the £25 million rated England International and fund the move for long-term target Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton.
Liverpool could be the solution for Wilshere’s woes as Brendan Rodgers likes to build his team around skilful and crafty players with quick feet. Wilshere is often tagged as the most gifted and natural box-to-box midfield player and a £25 million would be the ideal fit for Liverpool. Wilshere and Henderson have played together at senior level as well and would form an immediate partnership for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
