Heartbreak for EPL clubs as Dortmund snubs any interest in their frontman and has said that Aubameyand in all probability will continue his association with the club.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been a target for EPL giants from Liverpool to Manchester United and his current absence in the training session further added fire to all the transfer talk with rumours circulating that Klopp will use his close contacts within the Dortmund camp to get the Gabonese footballer to Anfield. But squashing all speculations, the club revealed the real reason behind the absence of the forward saying that the 26 year old did not turn up for practive due to personal reasons.
The club took to twitter to douse the transfer fire and wrote that “The reason is pretty well known in fact: He missed training due to a personal appointment. Will be back tomorrow.”
The forward has had a terrific season with Dortmund scoring a whopping 24 goals in 23 games and no doubt has been the main target for many clubs with Manchester United ready to be really ambitious if it ends in getting the man to Old Trafford.
All through the season, Aubameyang has invited offers from many clubs with the price tag on the forward being a whooping 50 million pounds. However the humongous price tag hasn’t deterred the teams from their goals with Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal fighting each other to get the champion goal scorer. Though Dortmund has snubbed all rumours, Matthias Ginter said that “We all hope he’ll stay. He’s very important, on the pitch and off, for what he contributes to the group atmosphere.” And the comment surely creates ripples hinting towards some uncertainty in the Dortmund camp.
