Chelsea captain John Terry lauds Belgian international Eden Hazard after his fine individual performance made the difference for his side as they won 2-1 against Stoke City this weekend.
The 24-year old have opened the scoring with 12th goal in Premier League this season and he wwas able to terrorise the defense of Stoke City throughout the match by making huge gaps for his team-mates to attack from.
The player is the hot favorite to be named PFA player of the year and Terry was quick to acknowledge the performance of the young winger. He said, “He has been our best player by a long way this year and in those games when you are looking for a bit of extra, a bit of magic from someone he is the one who steps up and managed to create something. He is up there with the (Lionel) Messi’s and (Cristiano) Ronaldo’s and can still get better and better.”
With eight games left Chelsea are all set to lift the Premier League crown unless a disaster happens. Terry also admitted that it will be hard for other teams to catch them now.
He added, “Our determination and patience was excellent today. The goal from Charlie Adam, which was a great goal, kind of stunned us, but we came out for the second half knowing what we needed to do. To pick up the momentum and get three points.
“We’ve got some big games coming up but if we keep doing that it will be very difficult for other teams.”
