Manchester United got busy pretty early, with the signing of Memphis Depay from PSV. The Dutch forward will reinvigorate an aging final 3rd, Robin Van Persie is 32, while Rooney will turn 30 in October, the month during which United face Arsenal and Everton away, followed by Manchester City at home. These three matches may well determine their credibility to challenge for the title this season. With David de Gea being unsettled at Old Trafford, United need to bring in a reliable stopper soon, as they will play in the final qualifying round for the UEFA Champions League in late August. However, Louis Van Gaal’s biggest challenge will be to cope with fitness of his players, during the period of Boxing Day to early February, in between they play Chelsea twice, play Liverpool and Stoke away, not counting possible cup competitions.
