Everton to offer Stones a new contract but it is a good news for Chelsea and Man United

  • Everton managed to keep their biggest and brightest asset in 21-year-old John Stones this summer amid strong interest from Chelsea and Manchester United and are looking to keep their Stones for a long time.

Everton are willing to offer the young center back a new contract and the English international is also willing to sign a new deal but only if a release clause is included in the new contract, according to Mirror.

The young prospect of English football was a subject to as many as four bids from Premier League champions Chelsea but the Blues saw all their attempts getting rejected by the Toffees and Stones’ transfer request was also rejected by Everton hierarchy.

The defender knows very well that Chelsea and Manchester United who are monitoring him regularly, will come back for him again in the next transfer window and, therefore, willing to insert a release clause in his contract and looking for a healthy pay rise.

This will be good news for Chelsea and Manchester United if Stones signs such a contract as they do not have to worry for their bids getting rejected if they trigger the release clause.

The former Barnsley man started the season brightly and Everton are looking to keep him for a long time at Goodison Park. He signed a new deal with them last year which is believed to be for five years, but Roberto Martinez is prepared to pay him even more to sign another contract.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United lack quality center backs and rated the young man very highly and believe he can sort out their defense for a long time and they will be looking to take the opportunity for triggering the release clause if they wish to sign him.

Stones is just 21 and already a key figure for England senior team having six international caps to name and will be a key figure for them in UEFA European Championship 2016.
