Chelsea continue to set high standard in replacing key players at the club. In recent reports, it is believed that Chelsea have identified QPR’s England International goalkeeper Robert Green as the viable replacement for departing Peter Cech.
Peter Cech broke the news for all Chelsea fans yesterday where he revealed that he will not be extending his stay at the club to be just a substitute to Thibout Courtious. Cech’s decision has left Chelsea to look for other options and it seems like they already have line up Rob Green to join Stamford Bridge next season.
The move does seem like a win-win situation for both Chelsea and Robert Green as QPR are odds on favourite to go down this season and Green would want to keep his International career alive by playing the Prmier League and in return Chelsea would get a more than able goal keeper to have as the backup to Courtious.
Peter Cech, however appears set fo a move to Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal. Arsene Wenger fancies a move for the experienced Cech, who can still play at the highest level for 4-5 seasons more. Chelsea have set a price tag of close to £10 million on Peter Cech, in return Chelsea can sign Green for a fee as low as £2-3 million.
This piece of business would continue the impressive run for Jose Mourinho in the transfer market since taking over at Chelsea. In his second stint at the club, Mourinho has sold the likes of Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne, Andre Schrrule and managed to sign Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, Juan Cuadrado and Nemanja Matic.
Another tramsfer coup involving Robert Green replacing Peter Cech would come as a pleasant shock to Chelsea fans and their Premier League rivals. The deal is expected to be completed at the end of this season.
