FA Cup champions Arsenal take on Premier League champions Chelsea on August 2nd 2015 for the FA Community Shield game at Wembley. The football season in England kicks off with this high profile game and we can expect a cracker of a game between this two rivals from London.

Jose Mourinho will possibly miss the services of his star striker Diego Costa after had picked up an injury last week against FC Barcelona. Costa has been declared fit but it is highly unlikely that Mourinho will risk his striker’s fitness before the Premier League season. Chelsea’s newest recruit Radamel Falcao will get the opportunity to make his competitive debut for the club.

Another interesting aspect of this clash is that former Chelsea custodian Petr Cech who joined Arsenal this summer after spending 11 seasons at the club. The Czech Republic star too will make a debut for Arsenal against his former team.

The Predicted lineup for the match is given below:

Petr Cech

Thibaut Courtois

Hector Bellerin

Branislav Ivanovic

Per Mertesacker

John Terry

Laurent Koscielny

Gary Cahill

Kieran Gibbs

Cesar Azpilicueta

Francis Coquelin

Nemanja Matic

Aaron Ramsey

Cesc Fabregas

Santi Cazorla

Eden Hazard

Mesut Ozil

Theo Walcott

Olivier Giroud

Radamel Falcao

Key Battles:

Olivier Giroud vs John Terry

Olivier Giroud will be the target man upfront for Arsenal today. He would get the assistance from Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla, but the responsibility to net the goals will be solely on the Frenchman. Giroud will face stiff resistance from Chelsea veteran John Terry. The English defender has been a loyal servant to the team for more than a decade now and he will be in charge to keep vigilance on Olivier Giroud and protect the Chelsea goal.

Mesut Ozil vs Nemanja Matic

Arsenal’s key man in the midfield is Mesut Ozil. His vision and his stellar passes on field can become a great headache for the Premier League champions. Ozil has been in a spectacular form in the pre-season and Wenger will heavily depend on his talisman for all the chances. Chelsea’s defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic will be in charge to mark the German midfielder.

Eden Hazard vs Hector Bellerin

Eden Hazard is the best player in this Chelsea unit and is definitely one of the top players in the Premier League. The elegant left midfielder from Belgium will be the most important threat for Arsenal. Hazard scores goals, create chances and his pacey runs down the wing is extremely deceptive. Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin will be in charge to keep a check on Hazard.

Cesc Fabregas vs Francis Coquelin

Former Arsenal player currently plays for Chelsea, Cesc Fabregas is one of the most creative player in today’s game. The Spaniard has exceptional vision and covers a lot of ground as a central midfield. Arsenal youngster Francis Coquelin will be in charge to keep Fabregas under strict vigilance. IF Fabregas can be kept silent, Chelsea backbone for passes will be curbed.

Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

Win for Chelsea in Penalty Shootout.
