English Premier League is going to kick off from today with the huge opening encounter between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
For all the football fans around the globe, Premier League started Fantasy Premier League few years ago and the popularity of the competition is growing season after season.
So who could be the best Fantasy Premier League line up for the opening gameweek?
You can select only 15 players for a budget of £100. Every player has a price based on their stardom an last season’s performances. And you cannot make more than one free transfer every week unless you save one from last weekend. So you have to be smart while selecting your players.
We have done some research on the Fantasy Premier League website and came out with best 15 players you can go for, 2 Goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 3 strikers. However, you can only field 11 among them in realistic formations of 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 3-5-2, 3-4-3, 4-5-1. You can also play in 2-5-3 formation that is the all out attack which is a new feature, but for only 1 of the 38 gameweeks.
2 other new features are there-
1> Triple Captain- It will triple you captain’s points which is doubled in every gameweek. You can select it for only one gameweek.
2> Bench Boost- This feature will add points from your four benched players also in the one gameweek you choose to play it.
Our suggestions for opening gameweek is-
Tim Howard- price £5
Everton have their opening game against newly promoted side Watford at home. So you can go for Howard as a clean sheet is expected from Everton from the match.
Joe Hart- price £5.5
Manchester City will play their opening match against West Brom away. So u can go for Hart as well.
Branislav Ivanovic- price £7
With 179 points last season, Ivanovic should be the one you should go for. Chelsea have a good defensive record and he also scores goals and makes assists often.
Nathaniel Clyne- price £5.5
The defender was third highest point getter last season behind Ivanovic and Terry. Two defenders from the same team is very much risky as you can get hammered if they concede goals. So Clyne is a defender you may go for.
Leighton Baines- price £6.5
The Everton left back is a good choice for his attacking abilities and set piece skills.
Jose Fonte- price £5.5
With good records for the past two seasons, the Southampton defender is a good choice.
Daryl Janmaat- price £5.0
The Newcastle right back is agood choice if you want to have assists from defenders. A clean sheet is not guaranteed but you can hope for assists often from the Dutchman.
Eden Hazard- price £11.5
The PFA Player of the year is a great choice for the whole season. Although the price is very high, regular points are guaranteed.
David Silva- price £10.0
The City attacking midfielder is another very good choice and you can expect regular points in return from the Merlin.
Aaron Ramsey- price £8.5
The Welsh midfielder has provided regular points whenever he was fit and now that he is fit, you should go for him.
Sadio Mane- price £8.0
The Southampton midfielder was a regular points getter in last season and in his second season at the South Coast, you may go for him expecting even better from him.
Santi Cazorla- price £8.5
The Spanish midfielder is a regular at Arsenal and also a set piece taker apart from making assists and goals from open play.
Sergio Aguero- price £13.0
The price itself reflects how much the player means to regular players of the Fantasy tournament. The top scorer from last season should be an automatic choice irrespective of whom Manchester City plays against.
Harry Kane- price £9.5
The Spurs striker was in sensational form last season and you can choose him as he is likely to continue that form.
Christian Benteke- price £8.5
The Liverpool striker is a player you can go for considering his performances for Aston Villa for the last few seasons and expecting to improve that after moving to Liverpool.
