Remember the golden days of Liverpool? And their black, red and silver coloured kit back in 1977, when the Reds won the European Cup? Well Liverpool’s new away kit and goalkeeper kit have been disclosed, long before the start of the upcoming 2016-17 season.
The strips on the jersey are the symbol of the campaign named ‘made for Liverpool’. The away kit is all black in colour and the goalkeeper kit has a beautiful combination of black and orange, the combo is making it look very attractive.
This away kit design is believed to be inspired from their European Cup winning season kit of 1977. Back then Liverpool wore a jersey having a beautiful combination of black, red and silver colour in Rome on 25th May. Well that was 39 years ago, many days have passed and surely this attempt is for bringing that fortune and golden period back to the Anfield again.
New Balance are the manufacturer and official kit supplier for Liverpool. Technical staffs have let the fans know more about the quality and design of the jersey, they said that the jersey is made of moisture-wicking fabric, so that it can provide the players a quick sweat recovery.
Jordan Henderson, the Reds’ skipper has said:
“Everyone is aware of the history of this great club, both domestically and abroad.
“This latest away kit looks great and having the words of Bill Shankly on the kit reminds us of what Liverpool FC means, inspiring us every time we play away from Anfield.”
Bill Shankly, the Liverpool boss has also praised the new Liverpool shirt for the upcoming season, he said:
“Liverpool was made for me and I was made for Liverpool.”
“With the seam-free body mapping technology and NB Dry each player will be competing in a truly advanced and stylish kit.”
