The end of this season cannot come soon enough for the Red of Merseyside this year. They are languishing far away from a top 4 spot and lost he League Cup on penalties. They were also knocked out of the FA Cup and are drawn with Manchester United in the Europa League. So silverware is not easy this season and it more or less looks like it is another year that the club has been in transition.

From Rodgers to Klopp. a lot has already changed at the club and the summer transfer window will give the present manager to get some new players into the squad that suit his style. This will mean that a number of players from the current squad will be sacrificed.

Here are 5 first team players Klopp might sell this summer:

  1. Martin Skrtel:

The long serving center back has his days numbered at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp. He is a solid center half at his prime but is not too far away from a mistake. Klopp has already signed Joel Matip from Schalke and this might spell the end of a strong career at Liverpool for Martin Skrtel. At 31, he still has a lot to give to the game and will be a popular choice among many clubs in the Premier League if he is on sale this summer.

  1. Joe Allen:

The Welsh international has rescued the team on a couple of occasions this season but has not had the kind of overall impact his manager wants from his mid-fielders. He is a quality squad player but is not good enough for a regular starting spot in Klopp’s Liverpool. He will be on sale this summer and will be a bargain for most teams in the Premier League.

  1. Christian Benteke:

The strong striker has not been able to find his feet at Anfield and has fallen down the pecking order at the club. With Sturridge and Origi fit, Benteke has hardly had any game time this year and will surely be itching to move away from the club. Having acquired him for 32.5 million euros just last summer, Liverpool will be happy to sell if they can recover most of that price.

  1. Adam Lallana:

Lallana has been inspirational at times for Liverpool this season but has not lived up to the expectations he carried to Anfield from his days at Southampton. He is one of the most technically gifted players in the Liverpool squad but lack of consistency might see him up for sale this summer. Lallana is still an important player for the England national team and will attract a lot of clubs if Klopp decides to get rid of him this summer.

  1. Simon Mignolet:

The Belgian shot stopper has never been a hit with the Anfield faithful who have branded him as an amateur after a series of howlers that have cost Liverpool more than 10 points this season. He has been involved in more errors leading to direct goal than any other player and is simply a liability for a club like Liverpool. Klopp though signed him for 5 more years, he will want to get in a strong commanding goal keeper who can solve the defensive woes of his side.
