Chelsea legend Didier Drogba is set to speak to Everton striker Romelu Lukaku over a potential return to Stamford Bridge in summer, according to reports.

The Sun claims that the Ivorian is still a friend of the Belgian striker, who is currently one of the best young strikers in the world, and will try to persuade him over rejoining his former club.

The 23-year old is drawing interest from a number of big clubs across Europe including Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain apart from Chelsea but the Blues is believed to hold a considerable advantage ahead of their rivals for a potential deal.

The striker could be available for as much as £70 million which is an incredible amount considering the fact that the Blues sold him to Toffees for just £28 million three years ago.

Lukaku has revealed that he is not going to sign a new contract at Goodison Park after his contract talks were broken over a Champions League clause and is keen to move to a bigger club that competes in the elite competition.

A move for Lukaku would be a perfect deal for the Blues amid suggestions that Diego Costa could leave the club this summer. Lukaku, was expected to fill in the shoes of Drogba earlier.

But after failing to meet the expectations, he was loaned out to West Ham and then to Everton before making the move permanent. With only two years left in his contract at Goodison Park, Everton are keen to tie him down to a new deal despite his reluctance as they are confident that they can keep the Belgian striker for a longer period.

Lukaku, meanwhile is keen to prove himself in Champions League after his successful spell in Premier League which paves way for a move to a bigger club as Toffees are not in the race to top four despite their incredible improvement under Ronald Koeman.
